Anindya Bakrie Seeks to Maintain the Golden Olympic Tradition

Jakarta – Indonesian Contingent's Chef de Mission (CdM) for the Paris 2024 Olympics, Anindya Novyan Bakrie, urged the Indonesian contingent to maintain the tradition of winning gold medals at the Olympics in Paris from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
To achieve this goal, Bakrie emphasized the need for synergy between the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI), the National Sports Committee of Indonesia (KONI), and federations to prepare athletes as best as possible.
"In essence, we all want the Red and White flag to wave frequently and 'Indonesia Raya' to resound in Paris, indicating that gold medals can be achieved," Anindya Bakrie said on Monday in a dialogue titled "Maintaining Collective Spirit Towards the Red and White Waving" regarding Indonesian team readiness for the 2024 Paris Olympics in Jakarta.
"As the CdM, I call on everyone to unite, together maintaining our collective spirit to face the 2024 Paris Olympics. This is not the struggle of one party but our collective endeavor to honor the nation," Bakrie continued.
On this occasion, Bakrie also expressed appreciation for the athletes and coaches who have qualified for the Olympics.
Currently, Indonesia has secured seven tickets to the Paris Olympics. The seven athletes who have secured tickets to Paris are Arif Dwi Pangestu (archery), Diananda Choirunisa (archery), Rifda Irfanaluthfi (gymnastics), Fathur Gustafian (shooting), Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi (climbing), Rahmad Adi Mulyono (climbing), and Rio Waida (surfing).
There are still several other sports such as badminton, weightlifting, swimming, and others that are competing in the qualification rounds can compete in the Olympics.
Furthermore, Minister of Youth and Sports Dito Ariotedjo stated that preparations for the July 2024 Paris Olympics are still in an intensive stage, and athletes continue to strive to qualify.
"This year's Olympics is in the last year of President Jokowi's leadership. Surely, we want to endure, hopefully, it can bring a good surprise. Hopefully, this can be a good gift for the people and President Jokowi," the Minister expressed.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Central KONI, Marciano Norman, hoped that Cdm Anindya Bakrie could lead the Olympic team to achieve better results than the previous Olympics.
"I feel confident that under the coordination of the NOC and CdM Anindya Bakrie, we will unite the hopes of the Indonesian nation to achieve the best performance," Norman concluded.
