Vice President Invites Muslim People to Achieve God-Fearing

Jakarta – Vice President Ma'ruf Amin invited Muslims across the country to welcome Ramadhan 1445 Hijriyah/2024 AD by committing themselves to achieving the three main benefits of fasting to become God-fearing.
"Mental preparation is carried out by purifying our intentions, that our worship is solely to make us God-fearing people," VP Amin said in Jakarta on Thursday.
The first benefit of fasting during Ramadan is psychological or spiritual, wherein Muslims get used to being patient and restraining their desires, he highlighted.

"This is important because all humans have lust, and lust will lead humans to commit bad actions," VP Amin explained.
The Vice President said that piety and goodness depend on humans' ability to control their desires, and fasting is one effective way to control them.
The second benefit of fasting is the social benefit, wherein Muslims accustom themselves to be orderly, disciplined, and equal with other people regardless of social status.
"The third is the health benefits, where we make it a habit to cleanse the organs. In a hadith, it is said that you fast and you will be healthy," he conveyed.
Ramadan is also a school for Muslims to carry out self-education to achieve self-purification, he concluded.
