Jakarta – The Indonesian Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi ensures that logistics distribution runs smoothly during the 2024 Ramadan. Especially to fulfill the needs of basic commodities for the community.

So, the basic commodities, important materials and other goods can fulfill people's needs during Ramadan," Minister Sumadi said in Jakarta on Sturday.
The minister also appreciated the steps taken by community groups who took part in distributing food to the people in general.
According to him, the movements of community group (the Indonesian Mosque Love Community or MCMI) that help distribute food are very useful. Moreover, the month of Ramadan is also a momentum for sharing.
"I appreciate what MCMI has done. I consider this step to increase food distribution points to the community. I have also distributed food several times with the President and the Head of the National Food Agency throughout Indonesia," the Minister remarked.
He said that with the cheap basic food market, people can buy basic necessities at prices lower than prices on the market.
It can maintain people's purchasing power ahead of the month of Ramadan as well as help people who are experiencing economic difficulties.
Earlier, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) asked the relevant ministries/institutions to maintain supplies and stability of food prices ahead of the month of Ramadan, which is expected to take place from mid-March to April 2024.

"In March we will enter the month of Ramadan and in April we will celebrate Eid al-Fitr. I ask all relevant ministries/institutions to be alert and ensure that people can worship calmly,” President Jokowi said.
