Kalimantan – Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has revealed plans for the relocation of Civil Servants (ASN) to the State Capital of Nusantara (IKN) in East Kalimantan, which will be carried out gradually.
The reason is that the government must prepare various facilities for ASN in the IKN Nusantara.
"These civil servants will be relocated gradually because we need to prepare supporting facilities," the Head of State said on Thursday.
For instance, President Jokowi mentioned supporting facilities being prepared such as housing, schools, and hospitals in the IKN Nusantara.
"Other aspects also need to be prepared such as managing administration, which certainly is not easy," President Jokowi remarked.
"For example, housing is crucial. Schools for those relocating here, hospitals for those who are ill. So, all of these require managing administration, which is not easy. This is what we are currently preparing," he added.
However, the Head of State is optimistic that the IKN Nusantara will become a lively city in the next decade.
"We estimate that within 10 years, this city will become a lively one, inhabited by our people,"
Earlier reported, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will start working in the State Capital of Nusantara, East Kalimantan, in July 2024.
The plan is for President Jokowi to also hold the 79th Anniversary of the Independence Day of the Indonesian Republic Ceremony at the Presidential Palace in the Nusantara State Capital on August 17, 2024.
Besides the President, it's planned that the Minister of Public Works and Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuldjono will also have his office in the Nusantara State Capital by mid-2024.
"Mr. Hadimuldjono in July. I'm in July. The reason being, waiting for infrastructure such as the airport and toll roads," President Jokowi informed.
