Liverpool Wins the English League Cup After Defeat Chelsea

Jakarta – Virgil van Dijk's goal in the last minutes secured Liverpool's victory over Chelsea 1-0 in the final match of the English League Cup at Wembley Stadium, London, on Sunday.
Liverpool had to wait until the 118th minute to ensure victory in this match through Van Dijk's header.
This is Liverpool's tenth English League Cup trophy, having last won it two years ago in the 2021/2022 season.
Liverpool dominated the game with 54 percent possession and unleashed a total of 11 shots, six of which were on target.
Liverpool had the first chance through Luis Diaz's header after receiving Andrew Robertson's pass, but the ball was blocked by Chelsea's goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic.
Diaz created another chance for Liverpool with a powerful shot, but Petrovic made another save.
Chelsea didn't sit back. They had a chance through Cole Palmer's directed shot but was saved by Liverpool's goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher.
Towards the end of the first half, Liverpool had a golden opportunity through Cody Gakpo's header after receiving Robertson's pass, but the ball hit the goalpost.
In the second half, Chelsea threatened first with Enzo Fernandez's shot, but it missed Liverpool's goal.
The team then had a chance through Harvey Elliot's shot, but the ball was saved by Djordjevic.
In the 60th minute, Liverpool successfully scored through Virgil van Dijk, but it was disallowed by VAR due to offside.
Chelsea tried to score again through Alex Disasi's shot, but Kelleher blocked it.
After 90 minutes, the score was 0-0 as both teams defended well. But in extra time, Liverpool had the first chance through Jayden Danns's header, which was saved by Djordjevic.
Liverpool continued to attack Chelsea's defense until finally, it paid off in the 118th minute.
Starting from a corner kick executed by Kostantinos Tsimikas, the ball was met by Virgil van Dijk's deadly header, which broke Chelsea's goal to change the score to 1-0.
