Toyota Launches Hybrid Luxury MPV in Indonesia

Jakarta – Toyota Astra Motor (TAM) officially launched the Toyota All New Vellfire Hybrid at the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2024. This premium MPV (Multi-Purpose Vehicle) is priced at IDR1.8 billion on the road DKI Jakarta.Â
The Vellfire Hybrid follows its sibling, the All New Alphard, which was previously introduced in August last year at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Motor Show (GIIAS) 2023.Â
Unlike the All New Alphard which has two engine variants, namely gasoline and hybrid engines, the All New Vellfire only comes in the hybrid type.
Hiroyuki Ueda, President as Director of TAM, said that the Vellfire hybrid was launched as an effort to support the carbon emission reduction program. This is because motorcycles are one of the contributors to pollution in the country.
"I officially introduce a new member of Toyota's electric vehicle lineup: Hybrid Luxury MPV," Ueda said at the car launch at JIEXpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, on Thursday.Â
He explained that this car combines comfort and advanced features. To accommodate users' daily mobility needs while contributing to carbon neutrality.
Toyota is one of the automotive manufacturers that offers a variety of electrification models to consumers in Indonesia. This is demonstrated by launching various hybrid car models as well as battery-based electric cars.
The Vellfire Hybrid is based on the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) GA-K platform. It has dimensions of 4,995 mm in length, 1,850 mm in width, 1,935 mm in height, and a wheelbase of 3,000 mm.
The Vellfire Hybrid engine coded A25A-FXS is equipped with a 2,500 cc engine mated with an electric motor that is claimed to be able to produce a combined power of 247 hp.Â
