6 Indonesian Athletes Who Have Qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympics

Jakarta – The 2024 Paris Olympics will take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024. So far, there have been six Indonesian athletes who have successfully reached tickets to appear at the most prestigious sporting event in the world.

The six Indonesian athletes represent four sports. Each male and female archery and rock climbing, plus female gymnastics, and male shooting.

Here's a list of six Indonesian athletes who successfully qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympics;

Diananda Chourinisa secured a ticket to the 2024 Paris Olympics after appearing at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games. She played in the mixed team recurve number with Riau Ega Agatha and won a silver medal.

With this success, Diananda successfully won a ticket for the women's individual recurve number at the 2024 Paris Olympics. This will be the second time the 26-year-old woman has appeared at the Olympics.

Before Diananda got a ticket to the 2024 Olympics, Arif Dwi Pangestu first got it for archery sports. He managed to ensure a place after appearing at the Archery World Championship, Berlin, Germany.

The 19-year-old arrow athlete got a ticket to the 2024 Paris Olympics after stepping up to the men's recurve semifinals. Despite his young age, Pangestu has already appeared at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, and is ranked 32nd.

Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi will represent Indonesia in rock climbing at the 2024 Paris Olympics. She earned the ticket after winning the gold medal at the Rock Climbing World Cup in Bern, Switzerland in August 2023.

Desak, who joined the national training in 2020, has indeed targeted to qualify for this four-year sports event. Finally, she will soon make his debut at the Olympics.

Rahmad Adi Mulyono qualified for the Paris 2024 Olympics after winning the speed number of the IFSC Asian Qualification Rock Climbing Championship held in Jakarta, last year. 

At that time, he defeated another Indonesian athlete, Kiromal Katibin in the final round.

Rahmad Adi Mulyono has represented Indonesia several times in international events. However, this Olympics will be his debut.

Rifda Irfanalutfi will represent Indonesia in gymnastics at the 2024 Paris Olympics. He got the ticket after appearing at the 2024 Artistic World Championships Antwerp, Belgium.

According to the Indonesian NOC statement, the ticket Rifda got was a host reallocation. France, which passed its athletes through the women's team qualification, made its rations given to athletes whose rankings were closer to Olympic qualifications.

6. Fathur Gustafian

Fathur Gustafian became the sixth Indonesian athlete to win a place in the shooting sport at the 2024 Paris Olympics. He will represent the Red and White contingent in the men's 10m rifle.

Fathur Gustafian got his ticket to the 2024 Paris Olympics after appearing at the 2024 Asian Rifle/Pistol Championship held at the Senayan Shooting Range, Jakarta in January 2024.
