Jakarta – Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) has added eight regular Whoosh Fast Train trips, totaling 48 trips daily, to accommodate high demand during the February 8–11, 2024, holidays.
Eva Chairunisa, KCIC's general manager corporate secretary said that with the addition of the eight trips, the quota of the Whoosh Fast Train has increased by 4,808 to reach 28,848 seats daily for departures during the long holiday.
"The trip additions aim to meet the people's needs. So far, tickets for most of Whoosh’s schedule have sold out. Thus, we have added more trips to accommodate people's high interest," Chairunisa said in a statement received here in Bandung, West Java, on Wednesday.
She added that people's interest in traveling on the Whoosh High-Speed Train during the holidays is high. This interest has been reflected by a surge in ticket sales.
Currently, tickets for the Whoosh High-Speed Train from Halim to Tegalluar for travel on February 8 have mostly sold out. For other trips, occupancy rates are above 70 percent, she explained.
Here's the schedule for the additional trips for February 8, as quoted from Antara site.
Halim-Tegalluar Route: 8:20 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 2:32 p.m., and 6:25 p.m. Western Indonesia Time.
Tegalluar-Halim Route: 7:05 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m., and 6 p.m. Western Indonesia Time.
People who wish to travel on February 8 can now purchase tickets through the official ticketing channels.
The official channels are the Whoosh mobile application, the ticket.kcic.co.id site, official ticket vending machines and counters at stations, and partner apps such as Access by KAI, Livin by Mandiri, BRImo, and BNI Mobile Banking.
According to Chairunisa, KCIC is constantly evaluating passengers' needs so that Whoosh trips can cater to them during the long holiday.
"If additional trips are needed in the future, (we) can implement them," she stated.
During the long holiday, passengers can use their Whoosh train tickets to enjoy free promo or travel discounts to 12 tourist, culinary, and accommodation destinations near Whoosh train stations, she concluded.
