"The results of the Foreign Ministers' meeting in Laos. We are committed to the Five-Point Consensus (5PC) remaining the main pillar, the main reference for ASEAN in trying to help Myanmar out of this crisis, because there have been questions about the 5PC," Minister Marsudi said at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta, on Tuesday.

The Minister talked about the troika during the ASEAN Summit in Indonesia, which held the ASEAN Chairmanship. Indonesia chaired before, then Lao-PDR, and next year will be Malaysia.

"We discussed what this would look like in the future. Later, the troika is not closed, it's its nature," she remarked.

When discussing humanitarian assistance, Minister Marsudi had extensive discussions with Thailand because the country provided humanitarian assistance through cross-border channels while still involving the AHA Centre.

"Why should the AHA Centre be involved? Because the Five-Point Consensus refers to the involvement of the AHA Centre," she said.

Furthermore, Minister Marsudi stated that Indonesia has provided all notes regarding engagements conducted under the Indonesian Chairmanship to Laos.

With hopes, she said, they would explicitly state that what Laos is doing is a continuation.

"Because what Indonesia is doing is initially from Cambodia, we build based on what was built by Cambodia, so there is sustainability, it must be built and strengthened," the minister concluded.
