Chery Omoda E5 Globally Launched in Indonesia

Jakarta – Chinese automotive manufacturer Chery officially launched its first electric vehicle in Jakarta, called the Chery Omoda E5. And, Indonesia becomes the world's first country to unveil this SUV-type electric car.
Qu Ji Zong, Executive Vice President of Chery Sales Indonesia, stated that one of the reasons for introducing this emission-free vehicle is to address environmental issues.
"Environmental problems are a significant issue we face today. Therefore, we launched the Omoda E5 as a response," he said in Central Jakarta on Monday.
The Chery Omoda E5 has dimensions of 4,424 millimeters in length, 1,830 mm in width, and 1,588 mm in height.
This two-row seating vehicle is equipped with an electric motor generating 150 kilowatts or approximately 204 horsepower and a torque of 340 Newton-meters.
To organize the electric power, Chery opted for lithium-ion phosphate (LFP) battery technology with a capacity of 61.06 kilowatt-hours. With this combination, the car is claimed to cover a distance of 430 kilometers on a single charge.
From the exterior perspective, the Omoda E5 features LED headlights, sequential turn signals, and ambient lighting. A sunroof is also available to enhance the car's luxurious appeal.
Passengers are pampered with an entertainment system accessible through a 24.6-inch screen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, USB, and Intelligent Voice Interactive connectivity.
After that, the audio system uses the Sony brand, and a 50-watt wireless charging feature is provided for fast smartphone charging.
A driver can choose from three driving modes, and safety is addressed with six airbags, ABS brakes, and the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) feature.
The Chery Omoda E5 is priced at IDR498.8 million. For the first 1,000 buyers, a special price of IDR488.8 million.
