Toyota Indonesia Records Sales of Over 37,000 EV Units

Jakarta – Toyota-Astra Motor (TAM) in 2023 recorded sales of 37,736 electrified vehicles supported by the Kijang Innova Zenix HEV and Yaris Cross HEV hybrid vehicle models.
Henry Tanoto, Deputy President Director TAM stated that the launch of the All New Kijang Innova Zenix and Yaris Cross received positive public interest, especially the HEV (hybrid electric vehicle) model which immediately led our electrified vehicle sales.Â
"In 2023, the Kijang Innova Zenix HEV will become Toyota's sales locomotive for electrified vehicles with total sales of 27,705 units, followed by the Yaris Cross HEV with a total of 5,476 units, and the Corolla Cross HEV reaching 1,217 units," Tanoto said in Jakarta, on Friday.
TAM's sales figures for electrified vehicles during 2023 will increase eight-fold from 4,436 units in 2022.
"Hopefully, with the increasingly complete choice of new Toyota models, especially electric vehicles," he remarked.
"This year we can make a significant contribution in driving the growth of four-wheeled vehicle sales and presents ever better cars that suit customer needs," Tanoto added.
Meanwhile, the Toyota bZ4X, the first Toyota battery electric vehicle (BEV) to be marketed in Indonesia, recorded sales of 479 units during 2023.
Overall, sales figures for Toyota vehicles, including Lexus, increased from 332,443 units in 2023. 2022 to 339,292 units in 2023.
TAM's vehicle market share also increased from 31.7 percent in 2022 to 33.7 percent in 2023.
