Lewis Hamilton Joins Ferrari After 11 Years with Mercedes

Jakarta – Lewis Hamilton is set to move from Mercedes to Ferrari for the 2025 Formula One (F1) season, a move confirmed by both teams through official announcements.
"Scuderia Ferrari is delighted to announce that Lewis Hamilton will join the team in 2025, signing a multi-year contract," Ferrari stated on Friday.
Meanwhile, Mercedes revealed that the 2024 season would mark Hamilton's final as a driver for the team. The departure is attributed to a release clause exercised by Hamilton from the contract signed in August of the previous year, allowing him to leave at the end of the 2024 season.
Hamilton expressed pride in the 11 remarkable years with Mercedes, acknowledging the difficulty of the decision to leave a team that played a significant role in his growth since 13.
Despite embracing a new challenge, he committed to delivering his best performance for Mercedes in the F1 2024 season. .
Mercedes Team Principal Toto Wolff recognized Hamilton's integral role in the team's motorsport history and accepted the decision while expressing excitement for the team's future.
Hamilton, with Mercedes since 2013, won his first title with McLaren in 2008. His current contract expires at the end of the next year.
In the 2023 season, he accumulated 234 points across 22 races without securing a victory, achieving podium finishes in Australia, Spain, and Mexico, and three third-place finishes in Canada, Britain, and Singapore.
