Jakarta – Governor of Bank Indonesia (BI), Perry Warjiyo, revealed that the Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) can be used to pay Land and Building Tax (PBB).
"QRIS can be used for local tax transactions, from parking, PBB tax, then all local taxes," Warjiyo said in a statement on Tuesday.
In addition, Warjiyo stated that QRIS can also be used for levies to local government spending. Through integration into the government segment credit card.
"So, the regional government has also used a government segment credit card, which of course we waive the fee with the industry," Warjiyo remarked.
"Likewise with industry, the government that spends using QRIS and KKI (Indonesian Credit Card), it is cheaper and directly cuts the account," he added.
Warjiyo revealed that QRIS has currently been used in 475 regional governments, both provincial / district/city, out of 542 local governments.
Based on BI, throughout 2023, the nominal QRIS transaction was recorded to grow 130.01 percent year on year (yoy), with a value of IDR229.96 trillion. The number of QRIS users has also increased, reaching 45.78 million.
