Bank Indonesia Records QRIS Transaction Value Reach IDR229.96 Trillion

Jakarta – Bank Indonesia (BI) recorded that the nominal Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) transactions throughout 2023 reached IDR 229.96 trillion. This amount was recorded to grow 130.01 percent on an annual basis or year on year (yoy).
BI Governor Perry Warjiyo stated that in 2023 the number of QRIS users reached IDR45.78 million. Meanwhile, the number of merchants is 30.41 million, most of which are Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
"QRIS transaction nominal was recorded to grow 130.01 percent yoy, and reached IDR229.96 trillion," Warjiyo said in a statement at Bank Indonesia Headquarters, in Jakarta, on Wednesday.
Warjiyo said, that the value of payment transactions using ATM cards, debit cards, and credit cards reached IDR8,178.69 trillion or decreased by 0.81 percent yoy.
In addition, the value of digital banking transactions was recorded at IDR58,478.24 trillion. The amount grew by 13.48 percent yoy and is projected to increase by 9.11 percent yoy to reach IDR63,803.77 trillion in 2024.
Meanwhile, the value of Electronic Money (EU) transactions increased by 43.45 percent yoy. It reached IDR835.84 trillion and is projected to increase by 25.77 percent yoy to reach IDR1,051.24 trillion by 2024.
"The performance of digital economic and financial transactions remains supported by a safe, smooth, and reliable payment system," he expressed.
