Japanese Embassy Opens Scholarships for Indonesian Teacher

Japan – Japan has offered various scholarship programs several times for international students who wish to pursue undergraduate, master's, or doctoral studies in the country.
These scholarships cover a variety of fields of study, with some funded by the Japanese government, educational institutions, or private companies.
This time, the Japanese Embassy is announcing the opening of applications for the Japanese Government Scholarship (Monbukagakusho/Mext) Teacher Training Program 2024.
This is a non-degree scholarship for Indonesian teachers to study at universities in Japan.
Scholarship recipients will receive training in teaching methods, effective lesson planning, and other aspects that can enhance the quality and abilities of teachers for a period of 1 year and 6 months (from September/October 2024 to March 2026).
Requirements to apply:
- Applicants must be Indonesian citizens.
- Applicants must be born on or after April 2, 1989 (Maximum age of 34 years at the time of departure).
- Active teachers in formal institutions with a minimum of 5 years and 0 months of teaching experience by October 1, 2024.
- After completing the study in Japan, it is mandatory to return to Indonesia and continue the profession as a teacher.
Facilities provided by this scholarship are as follows:
- Full coverage of tuition fees until the completion of the program.
- Living allowance of approximately ¥143,000 per month.
- Round-trip airfare from Indonesia to Japan.
- Exemption from student visa fees.
- No obligation for service commitment.

Application documents must be submitted directly or send through courier service, with a deadline of arrival at the Japanese Embassy in Jakarta by January 22, 2024.
