Bali Becomes the Second Most Popular Destination on TripAdvisor

Jakarta – Recently, TripAdvisor released the list of the most popular destinations in 2024. The selection of top destinations worldwide is based on choices from travelers.
The determination of winners in the TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice awards for destinations in 2024 is identified based on the quality and quantity of reviews.
It also includes specific assessments for several subcategories of awards from TripAdvisor travelers for accommodations, restaurants, and activities in destinations worldwide during the 12 months between October 2022 and September 2023.
Based on these evaluations, Dubai was crowned as the most popular destination for the 2024 TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice. Dubai has been selected as the top destination for three consecutive times.

"Everything feels spectacular in Dubai, from the ultra-modern Burj Khalifa to markets and malls filled with gold and jewelry vendors. It's a place where if you can dream it, you can do it, whether that means indoor skiing, sandboarding in the desert, or zip-lining above the city," according to TripAdvisor's review quoted from Dailymail.
Meanwhile, Bali became the second most popular destination in the world, followed by London in the third position.
Another Asian city that made it into the list of the best destinations in 2024 is Hanoi in Vietnam in the fourth position.
Rome followed in the fifth position. Other popular destinations in the top 10 include Paris (sixth), Cancun (seventh), Marrakesh (eighth), Crete (ninth), and Hoi An in Vietnam (tenth). Besides Bali, Bandung also made it into the Trending Destinations category in the awards.
Bandung occupies the 15th position among several Southeast Asian countries. For example, Halong Bay in Vietnam is in the third position, Palawan Island in the Philippines in the fourth position. Sapa in Vietnam is in the fifth position. Pattaya is in the seventh position, Phnom Penh in Cambodia in the ninth position, and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in the tenth position.
For the Trending Destinations category, Tokyo, Japan, takes the first position.
"The city is known for its modernity, but ancient Buddhist temples, traditional tea shops, and tranquil gardens offer a peaceful escape—and a reminder of its past," writes TripAdvisor's review.
The second position goes to the capital of South Korea, Seoul, and TripAdvisor suggests visiting the N Seoul Tower built on the top of Namsan Park and tea shops in Insadong, which give you a taste of Korea.
The third destination in Asia completes the top three positions, namely Halong Bay in Vietnam, where TripAdvisor recommends renting a kayak or taking a tour to explore the limestone islands, rock formations, and stunning caves in the area.
The top ten Trending lists also feature Palawan Island, Philippines (fourth); Sapa, Vietnam (fifth); Bogota, Colombia (sixth); Pattaya, Thailand (seventh); Alajuela, Costa Rica (eighth); Phnom Penh, Cambodia (ninth); and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (tenth).
