Banten – The Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) officially inaugurates three new Callender Hamilton bridges in Banten Province. The ceremony was carried out centrally at the Cisadane A and B Bridges, Tangerang City on Monday.
These three Callender Hamilton bridges are spread across Batuceper Tangerang, Cisadane Bridge Tangerang and Tawing Serang.
"We inaugurated three Callender Hamilton bridges in Banten Province with a total construction cost of IDR 270.5 billion," the Head of State said at the inauguration of Cisadane Bridges A and B, Tangerang City.
Each bridge costs a different amount. Cisadane Bridges A and B cost IDR 106.7 billion to build.
Then, Batuceper Bridge cost IDR 123.2 billion and Tawing Serang Bridge cost IDR 40.6 billion.
"Each of these bridges cost different amounts of money to build. It's hoped that with this bridge, the bridge infrastructure will be better to improve road accessibility in Banten Province between cities, districts and facilitate the mobility of goods, transportation of people, logistics transportation, and reduce more efficient transportation costs," President Jokowi explained.
The President continued, the three bridges were revitalized and became Callender Hamilton bridges, because the age of the bridges was more than 40 years old, so they needed to be replaced.
"Because it has passed its service life and is prone to collapse if there is too heavy a logistics load, it needs to be replaced with the Callender Hamilton bridge," the President stated.
On Java Island, there are 37 Callender Hamilton bridges spread across several provinces, including West Java, Central Java, and Banten. The Callender Hamilton bridge is also a bridge that has a characteristic in the form of many supporting poles as a frame.
The poles become prefabricated components, aka made in advance. Thus, the poles are simply brought to the bridge construction site to be arranged.
