Metro Jaya Police Resolves 52,430 Cases Throughout 2023

Jakarta – The Greater Jakarta Metropolitan of the Indonesian National Police has resolved 52,430 cases throughout 2023. From the General Criminal Investigation Directorate, 10.996 cases were handled.Â
There are even some well-known cases such as the international crime of buying and selling kidney organs. The Wowon CS case, the persecution by Mario Dandy, the discovery of a dead body in Cinere, in Koja, and many more.Â
"The most prominent cases are TPPO (Trafficking in Persons), the sale of kidney organs, the sale of illegal firearms, the discovery of a corpse in Cinere, and in Koja," said Chief of Metro Jaya Police, Inspector General Karyoto, in Jakarta, on Thursday.Â
The Special Criminal Investigation Directorate handles a total of 1,900 cases. Some of the prominent cases handled include the disclosure of a pornographic film production house with artists and celebrities as actors.Â
Then the case of alleged extortion against Syahrul Yasin Limpo with the suspect of inactive Corruption Eradication Commission Chairman Firli Bahuri.Â
"Then the case of disclosing pornographic film production, Coldplay concert ticket sales fraud, illegal migrant worker brokers, and medical malpractice cases," he said. Â
In addition, the Metro Jaya Police Drug Investigation Directorate handled 5,282 drug cases. Some prominent cases are liquid drug cases, then 92 kilograms of marijuana to 173 kilograms of methamphetamine narcotics.
