Aceh – The Indonesian Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Harvick Hasnul Qolbi launched a program for 1,000 millennial farmer groups to develop and advance the agricultural sector of Aceh Province.Â
"This group of millennial farmers is the regeneration of farmers in Aceh. One group consists of 20 millennial farmers who will develop and advance the agricultural sector in Aceh," said Deputy Minister Qolbi at Anjon Mon Mata, the Aceh Governor's Meuligoe Complex in Banda Aceh on Friday.Â
Qolbi remarked that the Aceh region has promising agricultural potential. This potential must be exploited to the maximum. To do this, of course human resources are needed.
"The presence of this millennial farmer group is capital for Aceh to advance agriculture. The main aim of agriculture is to build food security, not only in Aceh, but also in Indonesia," he emphasized.Â
Therefore, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture challenged millennial farmers to prove their presence with real action. Moreover, the government, both central and regional, supports the existence of these millennial farmers.
"Prove that the millennial farmer group was not only launched ceremonially, but also took action. Proof with action to achieve food security in Aceh and Indonesia," Qolbi said.Â
Meanwhile, Acting Aceh Governor, Achmad Marzuki appreciated the presence of millennial farmers. These millennial farmers are the heirs of farmers in the western tip province.
"Nowadays, it is rare for Acehnese young people to want to become farmers. More young people in Aceh want to become entrepreneurs, state civil servants, or others. We are proud that there are still young Acehnese people who want to become farmers," Marzuki explained.Â
Therefore, Marzuki challenged the emerging group of millennial farmers to provide concrete evidence and contribute to the development and progress of agriculture in Aceh.
"Farmers are the pillars of food security in Aceh. Therefore, we have high hopes that the presence of this group of millennial farmers will have a positive impact on agricultural progress in order to achieve food security in Aceh," he concluded.Â
