In addition, the Jakarta Health Agency also found two cases of death due to positive COVID-19 in December 2023 in Jakarta after no fatal cases were found in October-November.
"We found two positive Covid-19 deaths in December 2023 after previously for two consecutive months there was no Covid-19 that resulted in death," Salama informed.
In the first case, an 81-year-old woman with comorbid hypertension. This woman's vaccination status has carried out the third dose of vaccination, she said.
She added: "Then the second death case was a 91-year-old woman with comorbid stroke and heart failure. This woman's vaccination status has not vaccinated against Covid-19 at all,"
However, Salama remarked the spread of Covid-19 in Jakarta is currently under control. She also urged the public to pay attention to a clean and healthy lifestyle, and use masks when doing outdoor activities.
