Ministry Encourages Prambanan Temple as Hindus Worship Center

Central Java – The Indonesian Religion Ministry through the Directorate General of Hindu Public Guidance is making a priority program to make Prambanan Temple a tourist destination and center of worship for world Hindus. Â
This significant program is a priority program of the Indonesian Ministry of Religion as well as the legacy of the Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas in 2023.
"Hindus have ample space because they are given the right to use Prambanan Temple as a place of worship," said the Director General of Hindu Public Guidance of the Indonesian Ministry of Religion Prof. I Nengah Duija in Bogor, on Saturday.
As known, the number of visits to worship at Prambanan Temple throughout 2023, has reached 18,700 people.
"We represent the Hindus of the archipelago to thank Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and Gus Minister Yaqut Cholil Qoumas for their attention to us, and this is proof that the state is present to provide public services, facilities, and motivation to Indonesian Hindus and the world," he explained.
In addition, Duija revealed that the Directorate General of Hindu Bimas has formed a work team consisting of the Pinandita Sanggraha Nusantara (PSN) Institute, DIY Hindu Religious Counselors, Central Java Hindu Religious Counselors, DIY Hindu Bimas and Central Java Hindu Bimas as a concrete step to optimize the use of Prambanan Temple as a tourist destination center and worship center for world Hindus.
"This work team is directly assigned in the field to serve Hindus who will carry out prayers," Duija remarked.
"In addition, it is also to build good cooperation and coordination with the Directorate General of Culture through the Cultural Heritage Preservation Center which is now the Cultural Preservation Center, Temple Tourism Park (TWC), and the Regional Government," he continued.
