Jordan – The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization has sent 17 aid planes to Gaza as part of the "For Our People in Gaza" campaign.
This is acollaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, the Jordanian Armed Forces/Air Force, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).
In a statement on Thursday, the organization disclosed that the planes carried various humanitarian aid, including medical supplies, medications, kidney dialysis drugs, food parcels, ready-made meals, clothing, health kits, infant formula and specialized medical supplies for children.
The relief and medical aid, along with clothing, were handed over to the Egyptian Red Crescent to be transported through the Rafah Crossing into Gaza.
The aid will be distributed to the health sector and official entities operating in Gaza through the Palestinian Red Crescent and UNRWA.
"Since the recent events began, we have worked on sending the necessary supplies and overcoming the challenges we faced in terms of quantity and speed to secure them for our people in Gaza and support the various sectors that were affected, some of which were rendered out of service," said Dr. Hussein Shibli, the Secretary-General of the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization.
The organization coordinated with various international, regional, and local humanitarian organizations, private companies, popular initiatives, and government agencies to collect cash and other donations based on the needs identified in Gaza.
Shibli highlighted that alongside the air shipments, ground convoys carried 286 tons of food parcels, ready-made meals, relief supplies, and clothing.
