As the jetskis of the Aquabike participants raced on the track along approximately 1.5 km, the cheers of enthusiastic spectators were heard from end to end of the beachfront area.
The Aquabike World Championship in Pangururan, Samosir, on Friday was very crowded. This was the third day of the event in Samosir.Â
Not only jetski races, racing, or solu races also enlivened this series of Aquabike championships. This international event is also a special attraction for the community and tourists.Â
Daniel, a Samosir resident, was also happy with the holding of the international event. He hopes that many grand events will be held in the Lake Toba region, especially Samosir.Â
According to him, in addition to attracting tourists, the event is also an entertainer for people who live in Samosir.Â
"I was happy, especially since it's free for the community, we are also proud that Lake Toba is now the choice for holding big events, we people really support events held in Samosir," Daniel remarked.Â
Syamsul Mahfud, another visitor, who has been waiting for the Aquabike World Championship for a long time, was also very enthusiastic. He came with his family from Deli Serdang while traveling in the Samosir area.Â
According to Syamsul, Lake Toba can be utilized for similar water sports events. Moreover, the infrastructure is currently qualified to accommodate many visitors.
"We feel optimistic that Lake Toba can be at the forefront in holding large water sports events," said Syamsul, who came with his family.
Not only a racing championship, this world-class jet ski race can be called a people's party. Special Staff of the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Arya Sinulingga said events such as the Aquabike World Championship are very important for efforts to increase Indonesian tourism.Â
"Tourism without events is difficult to develop, our steps to accelerate this are not just this once, in the next five years there will always be (events), this is already crowded," Sinulingga said.Â
Not only the jet ski race, on this occasion the Solu Bolon competition was also held between 8 districts in the Lake Toba area.Â
This Solu Bolon competition was no less exciting. The audience also cheered watching the original traditional boat race of Lake Toba.Â
Separately, Head of the North Sumatra Communication and Information Service Ilyas Sitorus said, the organization of the Aquabike World Championship involved many parties, including local MSMEs.Â
