Anindya Bakrie Welcomes President Jokowi Visit at Stanford University

United States– President Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bakrie & Brothers Anindya Novyan Bakrie, who is also an alumnus of Stanford University, welcomed President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and his staff at the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability, Palo Alto, United States, last week.Â
On this occasion, President Jokowi was known to give a public lecture related to Indonesia's new capital city, IKN Nusantara. According to Anindya Bakrie, this opportunity became a historic event.Â
"This is an impressive history where the President of Indonesia gave a speech at this Stanford University," wrote Anindya Bakrie thorugh his Instagram account, on Tuesday.Â
In welcoming the arrival of President Jokowi, Anindya Bakrie was also accompanied by friends and Stanford alumni such as Entrepreneur Pandu Sjahrir, Deputy for Infrastructure and Transportation Coordination of the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Rachmat Kaimuddin.Â
"Welcome President Jokowi to give his remarks and I would like to thank you for taking the time. I know you were very busy during APEC and also previously in Washington DC and previously in Riyadh. Thank you Mr. Jokowi. Hopefully it will be useful for us," Bakrie said.Â
Later, the event was also a lunch meeting with leaders of global giants from Silicon Valey/San Francisco such as Apple, Meta/Facebook & Dropbox, Salesforce & Twitter, Eventbrite, Iconiq Capital, TPG &TPG Asia, and Doerr's Family - donors of the Stanford School of Sustainability.Â
In a video uploaded by Anindya Bakrie on his Instagram account, the Head of State spoke about the problems facing the world.Â
"That is the importance of connecting with fellow humans. Likewise, selection with nature. We know the world is currently not good with climate change, energy transition is a very urgent issue," the Head of State explained in a video.Â
Meanwhile, Dean Arun Majumdar, in his remarks stated that he was ready to carry out research cooperation related to sustainability issues. This was followed up with the signing of a Join Statement of Collaboration Research between Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability, OIKN, and Stanford Alumni at the end of the event.
In addition, Anindya Bakrie also revealed that after giving a speech, President Jokowi and his staff were invited to tour the Robotics Lab on this campus.Â
"We were also given a tour of the robotics or AI lab on this campus. Witnessing interesting innovations to be an inspiration and opportunity," Bakrie remarked.Â
Bakrie also expressed: "Hopefully, with the presence of Research collaboration in the field of sustainability with the Schoold of Sustainability later in the homeland will make Indonesia at the forefront in this field,"Â
