Indonesia Targets to Produce 600 Thousand Electric Cars by 2030

United States – Indonesia will start to produce electric cars in 2024 as a form of the government's seriousness in realizing the Electric Vehicle (EV) ecosystem in the country. This was revealed by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
At first, the Head of State offered business people at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit to invest in Indonesia. One is in the industrial downstream project that the government is currently starting to intensify.
"There are several priority sectors that we offer, the first is industrial downstream," the President stated, as reported from the Presidential Secretariat YouTube on Friday.
President Jokowi explained that Indonesia is a country with the largest nickel and critical mineral reserves in the world. These reserves can be used to produce electric vehicles.
"As the owner of the world's largest nickel reserves, and various other critical minerals, Indonesia is in the process of building an integrated EV ecosystem," the President remarked.
With this capital, the President said Indonesia can produce 600 thousand electric cars by 2030.
"Targeting to produce 600 thousand electric cars in 2030 which we will start next year," President Widodo concluded.
