United States – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) talked about Pancasila as ideology of Indonesia. This was conveyed by the President while giving a public lecture at George University, Washington DC

The Head of State stood before around 500 students and academics on Wednesday. 

"In managing its diversity, Indonesia has a guide, has an ideology, namely Pancasila, Bhinneka Tunggal Ika which inspires in every aspect of life including state life," the President said, as reported by the Presidential Secretariat YouTube, on Wednesday.

President Jokowi further said that democracy and collaboration are one of the keys to a stable country.

"Communication is a space for dialogue, collaboration, and cooperation to achieve stability and peace both in the region and in the world," 

On that occasion, the Head of State emphasized that Indonesia is open to cooperate with all countries. Indonesia does not side with any power, except for peace and humanity.

"That is the principle that we carry in Indonesia's chairmanship of the G20 and ASEAN, which is carried out in a situation of a divided world with very sharp rivalries and heated geopolitics."

As known, President Jokowi has been on an overseas visit since last week. Before visiting the US, he attended the Arab League Summit and the OIC Summit held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

There, he met with leaders of Arabia countries and Islamic Cooperation countries, such as Turkiye, Jordan, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). 

The summit discussed the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in Gaza that has been going on since October 7, 2023.

In his meeting with President Joe Biden, President Jokowi also discussed the war in Gaza and asked the United States President to urge Israel to make a ceasefire.
