Thousands of Pro-Palestine Rally at Jakarta to Show Solidarity

Jakarta – Thousands of Indonesian people were at National Monument (area) on Sunday to show solidarity with the Palestinians during the ongoing conflict in Gaza.
The Pro-Palestine were dressed in white robed and wearing black-white Palestinian scarves, they also waved Palestine flags and chanted "#FREEPALESTINE" as they demanded Israeli forces and their deadly siege of Gaza.
"Palestine! Palestine!" said a guide while walking towards the National Monument area, on Sunday.
"Free Palestine! Free Palestine!" said other people following talk.
"Palestine! Palestine!" the guide said again.
"Freedom! Freedom!"
"Zionists! Zionists!"
"Destroy! Destroy!"
The peaceful rally was led by the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), the country’s highest Islamic authority. It was supported by the government, as well as Muslim organisations and those of other faiths, including Buddhism and Christianity.
Besides being attended by thousands of people from various regions, several public figures also attended the action; They included Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, Minister of Religious Affairs Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy, Chairman of the House of Representatives Puan Maharani.
Also, there are former Vice President Jusuf Kalla, former Muhammadiyah Chairman, PKB Deputy Chairman Jazilul Fawaid, PKS President Ahmad Syaikhu, and Presidential Candidate Anies Baswedan.
