IKN Nusantara to Process 10 New Projects in Early November

Jakarta – The Nusantara Capital Region Authority (OKIN) will conduct the second phase of groundbreaking on November 1-3, 2023. 

A total of 10 projects in the form of basic facilities for social life to tourism in IKN Nusantara will begin.

"This development shows not only the growth of development in IKN but also economic growth and as evidence of the confidence of private investors and the government in IKN," Susantono said, as quoted on Monday. 

He added, "The 10 projects conducted groundbreaking led directly by Indonesian President Joko Widodo at IKN Nusantara," 

This activity is the second phase of groundbreaking activities from activities that were carried out last September.

A total of 10 groundbreaking activities, both from the state budget and the private sector, for various facilities in IKN, including hospitals, malls integrated with hotels and apartments, several government offices, forest people sanctuary islands, VVIP airports, and public and international schools.

The investment value of this first groundbreaking is around IDR 12.5 trillion and so far there have been projects worth IDR 23 trillion that have done groundbreaking in IKN.

However, Susantono explained that the target of IKN development is not just numbers, but also a functioning ecosystem that can be enjoyed.

"The variety of land shows that there are already basic facilities available in IKN for people who move in next year,"

In addition to the basic facilities that can be enjoyed by the community, this series of groundbreaking activities also marked the construction of an adult orang hutan sanctuary in IKN. 

In this sanctuary, forest orangutans are no longer young and cannot be released will be cared for.

The groundbreaking is the result of a long process of public opinion polls conducted last year. The next groundbreaking will take place in December.

"Although the process is quite long, but we can show the engine of development growth is starting to spin as we wanted from the beginning," Susantono concluded.
