President Jokowi Urges to Stop Violence in Palestine-Israel War

Jakarta – The Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has urged to stop violence in the ongoing conflict between Palestinane and Israel to avoid greater humanitarian impact.
"Indonesia urges an immediate stop to the war and acts of violence," the President said in a statement at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Monday.
"This is to avoid more casualties and damage to property, because the escalation of the conflict can have a greater humanitarian impact," the Head of State continued.
The President also encouraged the root of the conflict between Palestine and Israel to be resolved in accordance with the agreed provisions.
"The root of the conflict, namely the occupation of Palestinian territories by Israel, must be resolved immediately in accordance with the parameters agreed upon by the United Nations,"
Furthermore, President Widodo said that he had instructed relevant officials to take swift action to protect Indonesian citizens who are in conflict areas.
"I ask the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the ranks of related ministries to immediately take quick action to protect Indonesian citizens who are in conflict areas," the President remarked.
As information, the Israeli government on Monday officially declared war and gave the green light for significant military steps to retaliate against Hamas.
