A Month in Operation, LRT Jabodebek Carries 1.4 Million Passengers

Jakarta – During one month of operation after being inaugurated by Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) on August 28, 2023, LRT Jabodebek was recorded to have carried 1,464,913 passengers.
The Public Relations Manager of LRT Jabodebek Kuswardoyo said the highest number of LRT Jabodebek passengers was on September 28, 2023, with 87,852 passengers with an average of 47,046 service users per day.
"Most passengers generally happen on national holidays and weekends, considering that many people are enthusiastic about trying this new mode of transportation that’s present in the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Bekasi (Jabodebek) area," Kuswardoyo said in his statement, on Friday.
During the first month of operation, LRT Jabodebek applies a flat promo tariff of IDR 5,000 for both short and long distances by the decision of the Ministry of Transportation. "Thank you to the people who have been enthusiastic about using this transportation," Kuswardoyo said.
Earlier, LRT Jabodebek operated 12 trainsets and 158 trips every day. As well as, the first train departure time at 5 AM, and the last train at 6 PM, local time.
Seeing the increasing number of LRT Jabodebek passengers, the travel schedule and service operating hours were extended to accommodate the needs of its service users.
"Currently LRT Jabodebek operates 16 trainsets and 234 trips every day, with the first train departure time at 5 AM and the last train at 6 PM local time," Kuswardoyo said.
Kuswardoyo also ensured that LRT Jabodebek continues to improve and is committed to always striving to provide the best possible service.
"We are very grateful and appreciate the attention of LRT Jabodebek passengers who always provide suggestions for the improvement of this new transportation service. We are committed to always improving services to provide the best for all LRT Jabodebek service users," Kuswardoyo expressed.
