"OJK continues to coordinate with Kominfo and instructs banks to block accounts involved in online gambling activities," Rae informed.

The request to block bank accounts is based on Article 36A paragraph (1) letter c, number 33 in Article 14 and Article 52 paragraph (4) letter c number 42 in Article 15 of Law Number 4 of 2023 concerning the Development and Strengthening of the Financial Sector (P2SK Law), to carry out supervisory duties, OJK is authorized to order the Bank to block certain accounts.

"This POJK is an improvement of the previous POJK APU-PPT, namely POJK APU-PPT Number 12/POJK.01/2017 as amended by POJK Number 23/POJK.01/2019," Rae said.

In addition, OJK has also issued POJK Number 17 of 2023 concerning the Implementation of Governance for Commercial Banks.

"Given that governance is very fundamental in the management of bank business activities to develop in a healthy and sustainable manner by prioritizing values, ethics, principles, and upholding integrity,"
