Bandung – The Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) appreciates Pindad which has made great progress in the Indonesian defense industry.
"The progress of Pindad is very extensive, especially in bullets and ammunition fields," President Widodo said when inspecting Pindad (Persero) in Bandung, West Java, on Tuesday.
Even currently Pindad is also making rapid developments in the industrial equipment and combat vehicles fields.
The Head of State also said that he is optimistic that Pindad will become one of the top 50 defense industries in the world by 2025.
"We estimate that in 2024 it will enter number 60, but in 2025 it will enter the top 50," the President said.
In addition to rapid development, Pindad also managed to increase its revenue from IDR 25 trillion in 2022 to IDR 27 trillion in 2023.
The increase in revenue came from orders several combat vehicles and ammunition, both domestically and in a number of other countries.
"This means that there is a prospect, an opportunity that must be utilized," the President said.
On the same occasion, president director of Pindad, Abraham Mose, said that the company's growth has been positive and it has exported its products abroad.
"For export, we routinely send ammunition of two containers every month to the United States. There is a lot of demand for weapons, pistols, and combat vehicles," he informed.
