Minister Lahadalia Promises to Build History Museum on Rempang Island

Batam – The Indonesian Minister/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Bahlil Lahadalia has announced that he will build a history museum in Rempang, Batam, Riau Islands. This is to show the identity of Malay community life on Rempang Island.
"Although there is no approval from the central government, we will make a museum in a simple village, which will be a story for our children and grandchildren about our existence in the existing village," Minister Lahadalia said in Batam, on Monday.
Regarding the location of the museum, Minister Lahadalia will coordinate with representatives to open a map, after which it will be decided.
"We will not dismantle the ancestral graves of the Malay community on Remapng Island, even though the investment project on the island must go ahead," Minister Lahadalia said.
"I do not allow to dismantle the graves of our predecessors. Later we will create a fence, we will make a gate to make it comfortable for pilgrims," the Minister concluded.
Previously, Minister Bahlil Lahadalia revealed that investment in Rempang Island, Batam, will provide a welfare impact for residents.
