United Nations Secretary-General Warns the World at a Critical Point

Jakarta – The United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres warned that the world is at a Critical Point because a lot of problems that should be handled.
"Our world is on the crisis point, from the worsening climate emergency and escalating wars and conflicts, to rising poverty, widespread inequality, and increasing geopolitical tensions," Guterres said at a press conference at the Jakarta Convention Center, Senayan Jakarta, on Thursday.
He also mentioned that disunity would damage the world economy and finance.
Guterres also called on ASEAN to play an important role in building bridges of togetherness and understanding to avoid conflict.
"There is a real risk of disunity, a major split in the world's economic and financial system, with different strategies in terms of technology and artificial intelligence, as well as conflicting security frameworks," he emphasized.
On the same occasion, Guterres also praised the slogan of Unity in Diversity, which he said could be a common reference in the future.
"Unity in Diversity is not just Indonesia's national motto. It is the key to building a better future for all of us. We need cooperation in this area."
