Jokowi Welcomes Visit World Bank Delegates, Several Prime Ministers

Jakarta – The Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) welcomed state-visit from several prime ministers and the World Bank delegates at Merdeka Palace on Monday.
At first, the President met with the Prime Minister of Timor Leste, Xanana Gusmao and introduced him to several Indonesian ministers such as Mahfud MD as Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, Retno Marsudi as Minister of Foreign Affairs and Pramono Anung as Minister of Cabinet Secretary and Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo.
Then, the Head of State also met with the President of the World Bank and his delegation at 2 PM local time.
After that, he received Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Kristalina Georgieva, received Chairman of the World Economic Forum Klaus Schwab, and had a bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister of the Cook Islands.
At around 5 PM, President was scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with the Prime Minister of Vietnam and the Prime Minister of Cambodia.
As known, the 43rd ASEAN Summit was held at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) on Tuesday, September 5, 2023. The event, which was attended by 11 ASEAN countries and nine partner countries, will last until September 7, 2023.
The other two countries invited are Bangladesh as Chair of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA), and the Cook Islands as Chair of the Pacific Island Forum (PIF).
As quoted from the official website of the Cabinet Secretariat, President Jokowi is scheduled to chair 12 meetings in the series of the 43rd ASEAN Summit.
The series of meetings are the 43rd ASEAN Summit in plenary and retreat formats, the 26th ASEAN-China Summit, the 24th ASEAN-South Korea Summit, the 26th ASEAN-Japan Summit, and the 11th ASEAN-United States Summit.
Other meetings include the ASEAN-Canada Summit, 26th ASEAN Plus Three Summit, 20th ASEAN-India Summit, 3rd ASEAN-Australia Summit, 18th East Asia Summit, and 13th ASEAN-UN Summit.
