Jakarta 99 Percent Ready to Host ASEAN Summit, Jokowi Says

Jakarta – The Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) inspected the location of the 2023 ASEAN Business Investment Summit at JCC Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Friday.
According to the plan, the 2023 ASEAN Business Investment Summit will be officially opened this afternoon.
"I see that the preparation is 99.9 percent ready for us to hold the ASEAN Summit and there are only small things that need to be finalized in one or two days," the Head of State stated.
According to the President, there are several economic and investment issues that will be discussed at the ASEAN Summit in Jakarta.
"(Specifically) on growth. ASEAN as the center of economic growth. There is an ASEAN Bank meeting, it is a business matter. There is a separate forum,"
Meanwhile, President Jokowi said that the Heads of State attending the ASEAN Summit in Jakarta will be conveyed by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Retno Marsudi later.
Therefore, he hopes the public can benefit from this ASEAN Summit activity.
"Since the beginning, I have said that ASEAN is not only talking high, but there are really benefits to the community," President Jokowi said.
Meanwhile, the Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi explained that 22 countries will attend the ASEAN Summit in Jakarta, consisting of 11 ASEAN countries because Timor Leste has come.
Then, 9 partner countries such as Japan, India, China, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Russia, and the United States.
"There are two countries invited, namely Bangladesh because Bangladesh is the Chair of IORA, then Cooks Island because Cooks Island is the Chair of PIF, the Pacific Island Forum," Minister Marsudi said.
