Tangerang – The Indonesian President, Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will evaluate disruptions that happen in the Jakarta-Bogor-Depok-Bekasi (Jabodebek) Integrated Railway (LRT) after it was inaugurated.
"If there are shortcomings, we will evaluate, evaluate from Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI)," the Head of State said at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD, Tangerang, Banten, on Thursday.
According to the President, this is the first time Indonesia has an LRT transportation mode that is driven automatically without a machinist. In addition, LRT Jabodebek is also a local product that must be brave to try and use by Indonesian people.
"I have said from the beginning, this is the first time we have an LRT without a machinist, all operated through the operation control center in Bekasi," President Jokowi remarked.
"If we don't be brave to use local product, when will we try? when will we dare?," the President added.
Furthermore, President Jokowi gave examples such as the TGV (Train à Grande Vitesse) fast train in France or the Shinkansen fast train in Japan also took years to become what it is now.
Therefore, the President invited all parties to continue to support domestic products.
"In Japan, what makes a car as good as it is now? It took decades. Shinkansen also took decades. TGV is also the same. So, if there are shortcomings, do not immediately be bullied," the President emphasized.
Based on information from Kereta Api Indonesia, the public enthusiasm when trying LRT Jabodebek since it was inaugurated by President Joko Widodo on Monday was quite high.
Until the second day, the volume of LRT Jabodebek passengers reached 28,925 people.
