Martial Arts Venue Construction for PON 2024 Has Reached 37 Percent

Jakarta – The construction of the 2024 National Sports Week (PON) Martial Arts venue has reached 37 percent, targeted for completion in early December 2023. This Martial Arts Venue is part of the North Sumatra Sports Center, in Sena Village, Batangkuis District, Deli Serdang.Â
Currently, the contractor is accelerating the construction of the venue which will be the venue for the martial arts competition at the XXI Aceh-North Sumatra PON 2024.
"For the Martial Arts venue, the progress is already 37 percent and we ask for acceleration so that early December is complete," Head of the Youth and Sports Service (Dispora) Baharuddin Siagian said at his office, William Iskandar Street, Deli Serdang Regency, on Sunday.Â
Siagian explained that the Beladiri venue is by the needs of sports, including Wushu, Taekwondo, Karate, Pencak Silat, and others.Â
He also ensured that the contractor had a good agreement with the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) and the relevant sports administrators.
In addition to Martial Arts, the ongoing project in the North Sumatra Sports Center Area is the Athletics Intermediate Stadium, "The first stage is Martial Arts and the Athletics Intermediate Stadium, then next month the main stadium, according to Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR) information the target is completed in August 2024,"Â
PON 2024 Aceh-North Sumatra is planned to be held in early September 2024. North Sumatra gets 34 sports and the closing ceremony of PON 2024 which will be held at the North Sumatra Sports Center Main Stadium.Â
