This includes designing tailor-made components, powertrains, controllers, wire harnesses, traction motors, and batteries that are specifically tailored for the Indonesian market.

Initially, the partnership will concentrate on converting commercial vehicles, such as buses and trucks. Indonesia currently boasts approximately 1.5 million trucks and 200,000 buses on its roads, making this segment a crucial focus for electrification efforts.

"Through the B-to-B scheme, converting ICE vehicles to EVs is much more economical, with prices reaching 50%-60% of the cost of a new EV in the same class," said Gilarsi.

Synland's CEO, Tom Jiang, added that this corporate action is their commitment to becoming a leading supplier of new energy and automation system solutions.

"We believe that we can make a significant contribution to the creation of new electric energy for the world," he said.
