How to Create Personal Branding for Social Media

Jakarta – In recent days, a lot of people use social media as their daily routine to see the world and trends. Also, now many influencers share their activities or abilities on health, beauty, travel, automotive, food, technology, or others that can give an impact on social media. This is also called as their personal branding.
Influencers on social media are individuals who have amassed a substantial and engaged following on platforms such as Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Twitter, and others.
Meanwhile, personal branding is the art of showcasing the unusual essence of an individual. By creating a strong personal brand, individuals can establish themselves as experts, influencers, or thought leaders in their respective fields, creating trust, credibility, and a loyal following that goes beyond just a social media presence.
Seeing how important personal branding is for social media, automotive brand Wuling Indonesia and a forum of Indonesian automotive journalists held Social Media Skill Upgrade Coaching Clinic event on Friday, and invite the Indonesian content creator and social media strategist, Eno Bening Swara Nasution or famous with name Eno Bening as a speaker.
"When you want to start a content or work as a content creator, you should find your personal branding because this is important to know your market then," Bening said at the Twin House cafe, Jakarta, on Friday.
"For example, if we are an automotive journalist, then that can be personal branding. So, we create content about motor vehicles, vehicle history, car reviews, or something else. Well, later we see our market, which is people who are interested in the automotive world," he added.
According to him, personal branding is self-discovered and only the content creator just knows it.
He also said: "If you want to be a content creator, the most important thing besides personal branding is to create content regularly so that people know and understand what content you create,"
Well, here are some steps to help you find your branding.
1. Self-Reflection: Take the time to reflect on your passions, interests, strengths, and skills. Consider what sets you apart from others and what you want to be known for.
2. Define Your Purpose: Determine your mission or the reason you want to build a personal brand. Think about the impact you want to make and the audience you want to connect with.
3. Research and Gather Feedback: Seek feedback from friends, colleagues, or mentors about how they perceive you and what they think are your unique strengths. Conduct online research to understand how others in your niche present themselves.
4. Craft Your Story: Develop a compelling narrative that showcases your journey, experiences, and expertise. Your story should resonate with your audience and reflect your values and aspirations.
5. Consistency and Authenticity: Be consistent in how you present yourself across all platforms. Ensure your content, visuals, and tone reflect your personal brand identity. Authenticity is key, so be genuine to yourself in your interactions.
6. Engage with Your Audience: Build relationships with your audience by engaging with them regularly. Respond to comments, messages, and inquiries in a friendly and helpful manner.
