Manchester City Secures Defender Josko Gvardiol to Join the Club

Manchester – The Treble winner for last season, Manchester City have reportedly secured the young defender Josko Gvardiol from RB Leipzig. The defender is understood to have completed the first part of his medical on Wednesday.
"More on Josko Gvardiol deal. Croatian center back expected to complete the second part of medical tests later this week - Thursday if all goes to plan," Fabrizio Romano wrote in his Twitter account, on Wednesday.
"Manchester City will prepare the contract and document right after," he added.
The 21-year-old Croatia international, a center-half who can also play at left?back, agreed personal terms with Mnachester City a month ago. He has a contract at Leipzig to 2027, strengthening the German club’s hand in negotiations and they have been demanding at least €100m.
Regarding personal terms, the Italian journalist reported that the Croatian national team defender had agreed personal terms with Pep Guardiola's club one month ago.
Guardiola is a product of the Dinamo Zagreb academy which joined in September 2010. He then strengthened Zagreb's youth teams of all age groups and culminated in making his first-team debut in October 2019 against HNK Gorica.
He also defender for two seasons in Leipzig and he also finished third in the German League last season, he made 87 appearances in all competitions.
The 1.85-meter tall defender has scored five goals and three assists and won two DFB Pokal trophies (2021/2022 and 2022/2023) during his career with Die Bullen.
At the national team level, Gvardiol has 21 caps with the Croatian national team and has been an important pillar in defense at two major tournaments, namely Euro 2020 and World Cup 2022 Qatar.
His achievements at the national team level include third place in the 2022 World Cup and runner-up in the 2023 UEFA Nations League.
