Police Set Over 600 People Human Trafficking Suspects

Jakarta – Head of the Public Information Bureau of the National Police Public Relations Division Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan said that the Crime of Trafficking in Persons (TPPO) Task Force Team of the Criminal Investigation Unit and the Regional Police had set 649 victims of human trafficking between June 5 to 27, 2023.

"There were 560 police reports; the number of TPPO victims was 1,840 people; the number of suspects in TPPO cases was 649 people," Ramadhan said through his statement, on Wednesday. 

According to Ramadhan, the way suspected used were illegal Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) or domestic servants (PRT) as many as 405 people; ABK as many as 9 people; prostitutes as many as 159 people; and child exploitation as many as 38 people.

Then, the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Police where TPPO activities are in the NTB region, the Police received a report from JPS alias J by asking TB alias T for help to be dispatched to Abudabi, he stated. 

"After the administrative process was carried out, then the victim left the airport, it turned out that the victim would be sent to Turkey instead of the country of Abudabi according to the initial agreement," he added.
