20 Teams Qualify for U-17 World Cup in Indonesia

VIVA – FIFA officially appointed Indonesia as the host of the 2023 U-17 World Cup. This was determined through a joint decision at the FIFA Council meeting held at FIFA Headquarters, Zurich, Switzerland, on Friday.
Indonesia replaces Peru, which was previously appointed as the host. Peru was replaced as the host of the U-17 World Cup because of infrastructure.
According to the schedule, the U-17 World Cup will be held on November 10 to December 2, 2023. Until now, as many as 20 teams have confirmed qualification.
Of the 20 teams that have qualified, there are four former world champions. They are the national teams of Brazil, Mexico, England and France.
Brazil have won the world championship four times. They are also listed as the defending champions after winning the 2019 edition.
Then, the remaining four teams will be contested by Asian teams. This will be seen from the 2023 U-17 Asian Cup which is currently underway in Thailand.
