Saudi Arabia Provides 400 Tons of Zamzam During Hajj Season

Saudi Arabia – The Prophet's Mosque, Saudi Arabia is provided with up to 400 tons of Zamzam water per day during the Hajj season, according to Saudi Press Agency on Thursday.Â
"Holy water was poured into 10,000 containers available around the mosque, and an additional 5,000 containers were used if needed," the Saudi Press Agency said.Â
A total of 530 employees and supervisors were involved in filling the containers and moving them to predetermined places inside the mosque, on the roof, and in the courtyard.Â
Seven locations in the mosque were designated for filling containers, and three areas were used to cool single-use Zamzam water bottles. A total of 80,000 bottles of Zamzam water are distributed every day, according to the report.Â

As previously reported, five days before the peak period of Hajj, also known as the Armuzna (Arafat-Muzdalifah-Mina) period, all corners of the city of Mecca began to be crowded with pilgrims, including the Grand Mosque. Â
The Grand Mosque is predicted to experience peak density today, Friday, June 23, 2023. Therefore, in order to maintain security and safety, the Chairman of the Hajj Organizing Committee (PPIH) Saudi Arabia Subhan Cholid urged pilgrims not to go to the Grand Mosque for Friday prayers.Â
"Tomorrow coincides with Friday and the Grand Mosque will be very crowded. To maintain the security and safety of pilgrims, we urge pilgrims to use mosques around the hotel area or hotels that organize Friday prayers," said Subhan, at the Mecca Working Area Office of PPIH Saudi Arabia.Â
On the other hand, buses have also begun to be withdrawn in preparation for the hajj peak transportation in Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina (Armuzna). As a result, pilgrims will have difficulty getting a bus to return to the hotel.Â
