Satria-1 to Support Government Public Service, Includes Communication

Jakarta – The Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (Kemkominfo) will utilize Satria-1 Satellite to support government public services, including government public communication activities.
Director General of Public Information and Communication at Kemkominfo, Usman Kansong said that the satellite will be very useful for Public Information Officers (PIPs) who spearhead information services to the public.
"This will be useful for public information officers, they work in remote areas where there is no internet network. With the support of internet access, it can make their work better, make reports and work programs faster," Kansong said in Jakarta on Sunday.

PIP is a state civil apparatus that comes from agricultural extension workers, religion, and family planning field officers.
The Ministry of Communication and Information has been implementing the PIP Program since 2017 as part of government public relations aimed at providing understanding to the public about government policies.
Satria-1 can also be used by Community Information Groups to submit program proposals and disseminate information to the community, with the Satria-1 internet network, they can use it to get information to disseminate to the community.
So this 'sky toll' does not provide direct services to the community as it will be dedicated to public service points in health, education, and governance. However, there will be an economic impact, albeit indirect.
"The benefits are not direct to the community. Because Satria-1 is part of a digital transformation that will ultimately also have an impact on the welfare of the community," Kansong said.
