Why are Flying Cockroaches Scarier, and Some Ways to Get Rid of Them

VIVA – Flying cockroaches can make many people feel afraid of them. Well, it is indeed creepy to see a flying cockroach than the one that only crawls because there is a possibility that it can fly to you in a jiffy.
However, it is not recommended to kill cockroaches by stepping on them. Especially if we step on cockroaches barefoot, there is a concern that there are bacteria that can make us sick.
So, why do cockroaches become more scary when they fly?
Flying cockroaches move very fast and it is difficult to predict their direction of flight. When they emerge from their hiding places suddenly, most humans tend to be frightened.
This is exacerbated by an environment that has indoctrinated since childhood that cockroaches are scary and disgusting. Making almost all humans afraid of the flying movements, anatomy, and aggressive behavior of cockroaches.
Because of this, many people are afraid of cockroaches, and some even have a phobia of them. It should be noted that fear of cockroaches is normal. However, there is a difference between fear and phobia. To confirm having a cockroach phobia (katsaridaphobia), it must be clinically diagnosed.
Well, here are some effective ways to get rid of scary flying cockroaches:
1. Start by doing your research
Find out where the roaches in your home like to hide. Cockroaches prefer dark, moist places like behind appliances, under sinks, in bathrooms and laundry rooms, in basements, and in cabinets.
2. Place roach baits in areas where you have seen roaches or signs of roaches
Boric acid tablets are particularly effective on roaches and can be placed in out of the way areas that are not easily treated with liquids.
3. Use an insecticide to control the population
Insecticides that are labeled for cockroaches come in both liquids and aerosols. Treat around infested harborages indoors and apply a residual around the perimeter of your home.
