Jakarta – The Indonesian Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin revealed and promised that the Health bill will create health services better for the whole society.
"Everyone has the right to get health services and the state is responsible for the provision of proper health care facilities following the mandate of the 1945 Constitution," Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin said during a Working Meeting with Commission IX of the House of Representative regarding the Health Bill at Jakarta, on Monday.
To fulfill this, the House of Representative and the Indonesian Government have discussed the Health Bill to transform towards better health services for the whole society.
"From a focus on treating to preventing, from difficult to easy, from a small industry that depends on foreign countries to being independent in the country, from a health system that is weak during an outbreak to being strong," the Minister of Health explained.
The Health Bill will also transform financing from inefficient to transparent and effective, from insufficient number and distribution of health workers to sufficient and equitable, and from complicated and long licensing to fast, easy, and simple.
From fragmented to integrated health information systems, and from lagging health technology to leading edge.
"On behalf of the government, we accept the results of the discussion of the bill at the working committee level which is the basis for level I discussion and decision-making," he said.
Today, 7 out of 9 factions in the House of Representatives have agreed to continue the discussion and decision-making in level II of the Health Bill.
Minister Sadikin hopes that the good cooperation between the House of Representative and the Government could continue to oversee the transformation of the health system in Indonesia.
