Minister Subianto Follows Up Peace Proposal with Russian Ambassador
VIVA – The Indonesian Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto met with Russian Ambassador to Indonesia Lyudmila Georgievna Vorobieva on Tuesday. On the occasion, both discussed cooperation between the two countries in the field of defense.
"We hope that the long-standing relationship between the two countries can continue to run well," Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto wrote on his Instagram account on Sunday.
During the meeting, the defense minister also follow up the peace proposal that he had discussed while attending the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) Shangri-La Dialogue forum in Singapore last Saturday.
It is known that the Indonesian Foreign Minister proposed three points for resolving the conflict in Ukraine-Russia.
"We also provide input for the creation of peace between Ukraine and Russia." he stated.
As information, the proposal regarding the peace plan between the two parties submitted by Subianto was rejected by the Ukrainian side.
Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov said that Subianto's plan was like a Russian plan, and strange.
After receiving the rejection, Ukrainian Ambassador to Indonesia Vasyl Hamianin visited the Indonesian Defense Minister at the Ministry of Defense Office, Central Jakarta.
During the visit, Minister Prabowo Subianto said that both discussed the global situation, "We discussed a lot about the global situation that continues to develop and is very dynamic."
