VIVA – Cambodia officially closed the 2023 SEA Games with a message of peace and solidarity in the region of Southeast Asia

"The SEA Games uphold friendship, solidarity and respect for fellow participants from the Southeast Asian region through sports," said Chairman of the Cambodian Olympic Committee (NOCC) Thong Khon, at the closing ceremony of the 32nd edition of Southeast Asia's largest sports event held at Morodok Techo National Stadium, Phnom Penh, Cambodia, on Wednesday. 

Furthermore, Indonesia is ranked third in the 2023 SEA Games medal standings after the Indonesian national soccer team contributed the last gold medal for the Indonesian contingent.

Badminton also contributed gold on the last day of the 2023 SEA Games, Tuesday, through mixed doubles Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati, women's doubles Amalia Cahaya Pratiwi/Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma, men's doubles Jeremia Erich Yoche Yacob Rambitan/Pramudya Kusumawardana, and men's singles Christian Adinata.

Indonesia's gold medals also increased from Randa Riandesta being the best in the 79kg men's freestyle wrestling class, and Aero Sutan Aswar contributed the only gold from jet skiing.

Additional gold for Indonesia was also obtained from the beach volleyball team after defeating Thailand in the final match, as well as two kick boxing athletes Diandra Ariesta Pieter in the Kick Light 54kg Women's number and Toni Hutapea in the Full Contact 54kg women's number.

Indonesia closed the 2023 Cambodia SEA Games in third place, winning a total of 276 medals. Based on data from the 2023 Cambodia SEA Games committee (CAMSOC), the Indonesian contingent collected 86 gold, 81 silver and 109 bronze.

The difference in medal acquisition is from the Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI) data which recorded Indonesia collecting 87 gold, 80 silver and 109 bronze.
