President Jokowi Encourages ASEAN to Become Epicentrum of Growth

VIVA – The Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has emphasized that the chairmanship of Indonesia this year to encourage ASEAN to become an Epicentrum of growth, this was stated by him in the Sarinah Thamrin area, Jakarta, on Thursday. 

"Many of the world's products originate from ASEAN countries. This is the very power that we strive to unite to promote the bloc as a center of production, in accordance our potential," President Joko Widodo added. 

He also gives an example; "For example, EV batteries, then electric vehicles, and products that have high competitiveness compared to production from other countries." 

Furthermore, President also explained that ASEAN has enormous potential. This includes a population of more than 650 million and relatively high economic growth. 

"We know that ASEAN's potential is enormous. The population reaches 650 million people. Its economic growth has always been above the average world economic growth," President Widodo remarked. 

"So, our concentration will be on ASEAN as the center of economic growth, the Epicentrum of Growth," he concluded.
